BLINKs, the countdown has officially begun. BLACKPINK is set to make a highly anticipated comeback with their third mini album, and it’s arriving sooner than fans might expect! The K-pop powerhouse revealed on Wednesday (Jan. 14) that their brand-new release will drop on Feb. 27—just weeks away.
A New Era Titled Deadline
The upcoming mini album, titled Deadline, was announced through BLACKPINK’s official social media channels. While details about the tracklist and concept remain tightly under wraps, the title immediately caught fans’ attention. Deadline also shares its name with the group’s massive 2025 world tour, which kicked off on July 5 and 6 at Goyang Sports Complex in South Korea. Those shows marked the long-awaited moment when JENNIE, JISOO, ROSÉ, and LISA reunited onstage for the first time since 2023.
Solo Journeys Before the Reunion
Before regrouping, each member spent time exploring individual paths. From solo music releases to acting ventures, the break allowed the artists to grow creatively. JENNIE stepped into the acting spotlight with HBO’s The Idol, while LISA expanded her global presence with an appearance in The White Lotus season three. These experiences, fans believe, have only added depth to the group’s long-awaited return.

Setting the Stage With “Jump”
Ahead of the Deadline World Tour, BLACKPINK reunited in the studio to record “Jump,” a high-energy track released on July 11. The song made an impressive debut, peaking at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remaining on the chart for 10 weeks—clear proof that the group’s chemistry remains as powerful as ever.
“The Most Powerful Versions of Ourselves”
In her January 2025 Billboard cover story, JENNIE reflected on the time spent apart, admitting she missed performing with the group. Still, she hinted that the separation was necessary to unlock something bigger. “I want to say it’s going to be the most powerful versions of ourselves that anyone has seen,” she shared, fueling even more excitement around the new era.
