Gervonta Davis Is Facing an Arrest Warrant Following Alleged Domestic Violence Claims, stemming from an October incident, according to ESPN. Authorities have charged the WBA lightweight champion with false imprisonment, battery, and attempted kidnapping.

The allegations date back to an incident involving Davis’ ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, who claimed he assaulted her at a gentlemen’s club in Miami Gardens. In a lawsuit filed at the time, Rossel described how Davis allegedly grabbed her by the back of her head and neck, dragging her into a parking garage where she says he physically attacked her.

Miami Gardens Police Department executive officer Emmanuel Jeanty confirmed the arrest warrant during a press conference on Wednesday. He stated that the department is collaborating with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate Davis.

“At this time, the Miami Gardens Police Department is actively working with the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend Mr. Davis,” Jeanty said. “Domestic violence is a serious crime, and the Miami Gardens Police Department remains committed to holding offenders accountable and protecting victims.”

Jeanty added that the investigation has been ongoing since Rossel filed her lawsuit. “The investigation determined that Mr. Davis used force to restrain and attempt to remove the victim from the location against her will,” he said.

Rossel originally filed her civil lawsuit in October, accusing Davis of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Commenting on the arrest warrant, Rossel’s attorney, Jeff Chukwuma, told ESPN: “What the police said is exactly in line with our lawsuit. Whatever investigation they conducted led to a judge signing off on an arrest warrant. The state attorney’s prior review coincides precisely with our civil complaint.”
